i spent a week of august on tour with the spares.
taking care of grace & lila.



lila merle is the cutest yitta five month old girl.
spent another week of september in atlanta with reed&annie&julie&will.

she said it. by the end of the week she
said anana instead of mama. i'll take that
version of angela any day.

spent a weekend of october in south dakota...


...and wyoming. i think they call these wide open spaces. :)

with my five year old nephew.
my niece and nephew got me fantastic pj pants for my birthday.

it finally happened.

the one downside of what i anticipate to be a fantastic summer.

i've never ever ever ever ever liked cicadas.
i mean - look at that. who wants to :hold: that?


and ... well ... the news has been saying they're coming.

but they're not.
not to the city at least.

but they :have: arrived in the suburbs.
and i babysit in the suburbs.
and kara being the
brave-and-bold-in-regards-to-cicadas girl
that :i: am certainly not ...
lo-lo-lo-loves them.
and wants me to hold them like she does.
and so i am afraid ...
that the longstanding fear i have had of cicadas...
(due to my sister telling me at a young age that
THESE

were actual alive cicadas and then :throwing: them at me)
is going to have to be put aside.
and at some point ...
i am going to have to hold a cicada.
perhaps even give one a name.
